We are looking for a full-time Accounting Clerk to join our growing team.

Purpose of the Role:

Reporting to the Assistant Controller, the Accounting Clerk will support accounting operations by maintaining and reconciling accounts, preparing reports and performing data entry.
Accounting Clerk Job Responsibilities including but not limited to:


• Prepare general accounting entries (e.g. sales, accruals, prepaids)
• Maintain/setup customer, vendor, inventory and product databases
• Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable duties
• Credits and returns – issue return goods authorization (RGA) #’s, prepare credit, file claims
• Annual physical inventory input, monthly consignment and customer inventory
• Frequent reconciliation of various GL accounts
• Assist in the development of an inventory accounting system servicing several related companies
• Verify financial reports by running performance analysis
• Maintain financial records for parent and subsidiary companies by analyzing balance sheets and general ledger accounts
• Preparation of special reports and special projects
• Maintain accounting controls by following company policies and procedures; complying with government requirements
• Protect organization’s values by keeping information confidential
• Maintain accounting records filing system
• Ensure accurate and appropriate recording of financial transactions and compliance with accepted policies and procedures
• Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities as outlined by supervisor

Order Entry:

  • Enter all electronic data interchange (EDI), Web and other orders into Accounting system. Liaison with the customer as required for order clarification and/or order processing.
  • Book pickup appointments where necessary
  • Ship confirm (invoice) all orders
  • Transmit or mail EDI invoices
  • Ship confirm all web orders on Costco/HD websites
  • Send advance shipping notice (ASN) for orders in timeline required
  • Book pickup and shipping appointments on customer portals and websites
  • Report CHEP pallet movements

Other Duties:

  • Provide cross-function coverage for other areas of the accounting team
  • Projects as requested by management


Accounting Clerk Skills and Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in or Business Administration, Accounting or equivalent
  • Working towards accounting designation
  • Familiarity with accounting software systems
  • Excellent Math Skills
  • Financial Reporting Skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, specifically Excel
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and work efficiently in fast-paced environment
  • Experience in AP, AR, Finance or related field is a plus
